As per this d&d 5e spell you do set an Alarm against unwanted intrusion. Just chose a door, a window, or an area within a range which is not longer than a 20-foot cube. But until the end of this spell, an alarm alerts you during a tiny or a larger creature touches or enters the warded area. But when you cast the 5e Alarm spell, you can easily designate creatures which will not set off the alarm. You even also select whether the alarm is mental or audible.
Basically, a mental alarm will alert you by a ping in your mind if you’re within 1 mile of the warded area. This ping normally awakens you while you’re sleeping.
Even an audible 5e Alarm produces the sound of a hand bell for 10 seconds within a range of 60 feet.
