Hadrosaurus DnD 5E Monster

Hello paleontologists of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for clicked on the 65th episode of our beast series. We got another dino very exciting stuff. We’re taking a look at the Hadrosaurus now this creature is most known for its bony horn on its skull.

It is a herbivore and it’s kind of pretty cool i don’t know, it’s not a super exciting dinosaur but it still counts, so cool stuff. It is found in the volo’s guide to monsters and it is considered to be cr one quarter and it gives 50 experience points on the kill CR:1/4(50XP). Now let’s take a look at the hadrosaurs stats.

It is considered to be a large beast, that is unaligned which means medium creatures can ride on it which is super cool. Live out those childhood fantasies. AC of 11, it also has a solid 19 hit points, using 3d10 and adding 3, speed of 40 feet which is nice.

  • Type: Large Beast, Unaligned
  • AC: 11
  • HP: 19(3d10+3)
  • Speed: 40ft

Taking a look at the stats you’ll notice are actually kind of underwhelming for a dinosaur +2 to strength which is nice, constitution +1 pretty good as well. But i don’t know i’m just kind of underwhelmed.

  • STR: 15(+2)
  • DEX: 10(+0)
  • CON: 13(+1)
  • INT: 2(-4)
  • WIS: 10(+0)
  • CHA: 5(-3)

Taking a look at his skills you’ll see a +2 to perception which is always nice and under senses a passive perception of 12 which puts it above the average for the category. Now let’s take a quick look at it’s actions here.

The Hadrosaurus can do a tail attack: It is considered to be a melee weapon attack: +4 to hit, reach of 5feet, can target one target and deals 7 bludgeoning damage on a hit, calculated by rolling 1d10 and adding 2.

Very nice stuff, i really do like it, i don’t know thematically it’d be a cool mount, cool way to get a round a more kind of jungly environment i suppose. Really take advantage of their appearance and their dinosaur heritage naturally.

That being said, out side of that i really do struggle with coming up with alternative uses for them. That being said if you have any ways you’d use them in your game, please let me know down beneath in the comment section, also be sure to mention any questions, comments or concerns you have regarding them. That being said i hope you all have a great day and as always happy researching everyone.
