Giant Fire Beetle DnD 5E Monster

Are you using the Giant Fire Beetle 5e monster and would you like to know more about it? then here is our article to know from beginning to advanced about this dnd monster. Hello zoologists of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for clicked on our 12th episode of our beast series.

Today we have a great one in store for us, honestly i was completely unaware this creature even existed until had to write this article on it and let me say i am certainly going to be using this in a lot of my campaigns moving forward. Especially campaigns to do the underdark.

Today we’re talking about the Giant Fire Beetle 5e monster this is considered to be a cr0 creature and it gives you 10 experience if you kill it and that’s found in the dungeon master’s guide as well as a couple other sources come just a generic creature. Now let’s take a quick look at its stats here and break them down a little bit further.

So the giant fire beetle is considered to be a small beast that is unaligned. Its armor class is 13 and it does technically have natural armor so bear that in mind if that’s important to you. It has 4 hit points and that’s determined by rolling a d6 and adding a modifier +1 to it.

Its speed is also 30 feet strangely enough it does not have a climb speed i’m not too sure as to why i was always into the impression that most insects did but this one does not. At the very least i would like does he have a burrow speed but whatever doesn’t matter.

  • Type: Small Beast, Unaligned
  • AC: 13
  • HP: 4(1D6+1)
  • SPEED: 30FT

Now take a look at its stats, you’ll notice he’s not the smartest guy or the most charismatic which makes sense as he’s a bug. But the intelligence is -5 which is just brutal, doesn’t get much lower than that.

  • STR: 8(-1)
  • DEX: 10(+0)
  • CON: 12(+1)
  • INT: 1(-5)
  • WIS: 7(-2)
  • CHA: 3(-4)

That being said taking a look at its senses here. You can see blindsight with 30ft which is great and passive perception of 8 which leaves a lot to be desired but at least he’s got that blindsight.

Actually, this Giant Fire Beetle is the nocturnal creature which takes its name from the pair of glowing glands which could give off light.

Perhaps the miners and also the adventurers prize these creatures, for the sake of a giant fire beetleā€™s glands continue for shed light for at least 1d6 days after this beetle dies. The giant fire beetles are the most commonly found an Underground and also in the dark forests.

From our website people also search for axebeak 5e monster

And it also comes with illumination: So the beetle sheds bright light in a 10 foot radius and also the dim light for an additional 10 feet. Might also be worth noting that light is actually given off by a gland of his and it’s very common for traders to hunt the beetles for that gland if it’s extracted it actually glows for an additional 1d6 days so might be kind of cool.

Illumination: Normally, the Giant Fire Beetle sheds the bright light within the 10-foot radius and also dim light for almost an additional 10 ft..

Let’s move on to his actions….

So it gives a bite attack. It’s considered to be a melee weapon attack plus one a hit,  reach of 5ft, can only target one target and deals two slashing damage. It calculated by rolling 1d6 and subtracting one to it.

Bite: By using this bite attack this dnd monster can make a Melee Weapon Attack: +1 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2 (1d6 – 1) slashing damage.

I love this guy. The way i’m planning on folding him into my aims is kind of through like trail like a breadcrumb trail. They follow these beetles and it leads them to like some kind of weird insect kind of fortress as it were.

I think that’d be awesome. Because it kind of glow they’re really easy to spot, they’re not super perceptive so would they really know if someone is following them? probably not! they just focus on their main task of retrieving whatever rare, ores, minerals or food maybe even. I think it’s pretty incredible.
