D&D 5E Archery Fighting Style

Hello fighters! Welcome to my spellbook and thank you so much for taking a look at the first episode of our fighting style series. So to start off this series, i just want to point out a couple things firstly due to the simplistic nature of the fighting styles i don’t expect these articles to be very long, a lot of them are gonna be under that five minute mark reading time for sure.

So take that for what it is. Well i am going to be giving as much useful information as possible, due to the simplistic nature of a lot of these fighting styles. I don’t really expect to break any ground or come up with any crazy revelations.

They’re simple because that’s kind of how the fighter is built to be right! very simple, straightforward, new player friendly. As a result a lot of the fighting styles reflect that. Certainly all the fighting styles found in the PHB as we get in tasha’s cauldron of everything and hopefully future installments of fighting styles, they will likely get progressively more complicated.

So in those ones i might have a little bit more to say and a little bit more value to provide. But for these first handful of articles quick disclaimer there’s not really a lot i can say that doesn’t just go without saying. In any case today we’re going to be taking a look at d&d 5e archery fighting style. In any case let’s move on to its description.

You actually gain a +2 bonus in order to attack rolls you make with ranged weapons.

This is pretty straightforward. It is a nice bonus to have especially at those early levels of play where your strength/dex whatever it is you’re using and your proficiency bonus are still relatively low and even at higher levels this would will likely just guarantee you’re gonna make that attack. In any case let’s move on to my personal thoughts.

Overall i’d say archery is a relatively useful fighting style. As a quick side note you don’t just have to use it with bose as the name archery implies but thrown weapons as well would count as ranged. So javelins, hand axes, darts what have you. So it does lend itself to more of a broad playstyle and allows the strength based fighters to still be able to take advantage of this.

I might push you more towards the javelins seeing as how you can still really use a shield with them. Their range isn’t quite as good as a bow but that being said it should serve the vast majority of purposes you’re using it for.

That being said, let me know what you think of archery down beneath in the comments section. Be sure to mention any thoughts, questions, comments, concerns or build ideas you have regarding it. That being said guys, i hope you all have a great day and as always happy adventuring everyone.
