Hello adventurers of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to my website and thank you so much for clicked on to the 54th episode of our 5e feats series. Today we’re gonna be taking a look at yet another xanathar’s guide racial exclusive. Today we’re going to be taking a look at dnd 5e feat squat nimbleness for you little guys out there who want to compete in the big leagues 🙂 It is found in the xanathar’s guide to everything handbook on page of 75th and without further ado let’s take a look at the description here.
First and foremost it would be worth noting that there is a prerequisite here and that is there you have to be a dwarf or a small race. So if that would include halflings, goblins things of that nature, gnomes as well would be in there. In any case let’s take a look at the description. So we could better understand what we’re talking about.
Prerequisites: Dwarf or a Small race
Being this Squat Nimbleness DnD 5E Feat you are almost uncommonly nimble for the sake of your race. Because of this dnd feat you can gain the below mentioned advantages.
- You can increase your Strength or the dexterity by 1, to the maximum of 20.
- By this feat you can increase your walking speed by 5 feet.
- You can also gain the proficiency in a Acrobatics or Athletics skill (your choice).
- Of course you have an advantage on any Strength (Athletics) or the Dexterity (Acrobatics) check you do make to escape from being grappled.
Wow! really good stuff there. Let’s take a look at the walkthrough and break this down a little bit more.
So first and foremost of that strength or dexterity. Fairly simple to explain, pick whichever ones closest having your ability score increase and then from there look into which one benefits your character more so. Usually dexterity but depends on your build is. From there the extra 5 feet to walk speed. Pretty useful in the right circumstances, ultimately this just kind of matches you with whatever it is you with everyone else basically.
The short races usually have a minus five penalty to movements. This just catches you up which is pretty nice. Proficiency in acrobatics or athletics up to you. Once again pretty easy to explain. Kind of go with whatever stats the highest or whichever one you don’t have already outside of that and then advantage one acrobatic/athletics to escape or grapple which is pretty good stuff. Ultimately comes down your campaign. In any case let’s take a look at my personal thoughts on it. We also like you to read martial adept 5e feat.
The only one i can really see benefitting from this would probably be the hex blade warlock. It just complements a lot of their current pitfalls of being a full caster yet still being on the melee ranks. Outside of them i’m not too too sure. Maybe if you’re playing a gish wizard or sorcerer that’d be a good way to do it. Outside of that i honestly can’t really think of anyone. I don’t find this to be an overwhelmingly powerful feat by any means and kind of just makes you good and it does stag with levels to some degree or another but for the most part it’s a fair choice.
In any case if you have any build ideas, thoughts, comments, feelings about squat nimbleness please let me know down in the comments beneath. I really appreciate you reading them and i know everyone else checking out this article does as well. That being said i hope you all have the great day and as always happy adventuring.
